Fuel Economy and Versatility
The new Ford Escape offers the space and capability of an SUV, but you get the fuel efficiency of an economy car. For the current model year and generation, you can choose from four powertrain packages: EcoBoost 1.5-liter three-cylinder, EcoBoost two-liter four-cylinder, PowerBoost 2.5-liter hybrid, and a plug-in hybrid version of the PowerBoost system. You can get a fuel efficiency of up to 30 miles per gallon with the base Ford Escape model equipped with front-wheel drive. But you can improve this fuel economy with the plug-in hybrid, which delivers up to 101 miles per gallon under the most optimal conditions; plus, you also get a 31-mile range from the battery alone.
Whether you're managing your daily commute, running errands around South Portland, or getting into weekend adventures, the new Ford Escape offers the perfect blend of passenger and cargo space. Advanced Technology Features and Smart Safety Functions
The new Ford Escape models equipped with all-wheel drive come with a drive-select system that allows you to set various driving modes. For example, with the Ford Escape with the two-liter EcoBoost engine, you can go from Eco to Normal, Slippery, and Sport driving modes. With the hybrid powertrains, you can go from Auto EV to EV Now or EV Later to prioritize charging of the battery through regenerative braking, thus optimizing fuel economy.
With the Ford SYNC® 4 infotainment system, you can synchronize your smartphone through Android Auto™ or Apple CarPlay® connectivity. If you go with the premium technology package, you can control the SYNC 4 system through voice commands thanks to the built-in Amazon Alexa digital assistant.

The Ford Escape Plug-In Hybrid includes many of the extras of the gasoline-powered Ford Escape Platinum, which is the most well-appointed trim level.
